DNS Issue
Instead of being able to access Boomer, you might end up with the below error:
If you are receiving this error, the issue is that Boomer cannot find the server on which your domain name resides and you need to remove an entry in your HOSTS file that is trying to point to a bad location. This might sound technical but don't be scared; simply follow the below steps!
- Open Notepad as an Administrator. To do this, first find Notepad by heading to your search box in the lower left corner of your computer.
- Once you see the Notepad icon, right click and select "Run as Administrator".
- Once opened, within notepad, select FILE -> OPEN and browse to the following directory:
Windows -> System32 -> drivers -> etc - Change the file type display from .TXT to all files.
- Open the file called "hosts" and locate the line that has the URL of your Boomer site.
- Delete this line and then save the file.
This will allow the browser to resolve the URL using the normal DNS settings.
