Campaigns



E-mail campaigns provide a powerful way to communicate with exhibitor contacts throughout the life cycle of the event. Use them to communicate such things as:

  1. Announcing that ordering is open for an event;
  2. Reminding users that the event's advanced pricing deadline date is drawing near;
  3. Reminding exhibitors that something is in their cart; or
  4. Sending final invoices at the end of the event.

Email With Footer

To access E-Mail Campaigns, click on "Campaigns" within the event's sub menu:

Create a Campaign

  1. Click "Add New" in the Campaigns grid. 
  2. Give the campaign a unique name and choose an e-mail template from the drop down list that represents the available e-mail templates that have been defined.

    For the initial "Ordering Open" contact, be sure to click "Create User Logins" so Boomer will generate a temporary password and include it in the email being sent.

  3. Choose the contacts to whom the campaign will be sent by clicking "Contacts" in the campaign's row.
  4. You will see a blank contacts grid since you are creating this campaign for the first time.  Click "Choose Contacts" above the grid to select the contacts to be a part of the campaign:

  5. A picklist launches allowing you to establish criteria for the e-mail campaign.
  6. Choose contacts using any criteria at the top of the picklist.
  7. Click Apply Criteria.  All contacts meeting that criteria appear on the left hand side.
  8. Highlight the desired contacts and click >> to add the contacts.  Click "Apply Selection".

    To select a whole list, click on the first contact, hold, and drag your mouse until you hit the bottom of the list.  Then hit >> to move all contacts to the right hand side of the Picklist.

  9. We recommend you send yourself a test message prior to sending the campaign to all exhibitor contacts.  To send yourself a test, click "Test Campaign" above the grid.  Your email address defaults in.  Hit "Send".  You will receive it momentarily.
  10. Once you receive the test and review it to be sure all looks good, you are ready to send the campaign, Click "Send Campaign" to send the campaign to all contacts.

Choosing Contacts

Campaigns can be sent to all contacts in the event, but you can also refine which contacts receive the email you plan to send.  Good examples of who you might send to:

  • Those who have not yet placed orders
  • Those who placed orders and need a final invoice
  • Those who have ordered from certain revenue types and/or specific products
  • Those who have not ordered from certain revenue types and/or specific products.

Most of the options in the dialog are intuitive, but if you plan to use the ordered/not ordered options, an example might help you in setting up the filters properly.  In the example below, the contacts returned in the dialog have ordered carpet, but have not ordered padding:

Contacts in the Campaign

You can access the contacts who received the email campaign at any time by clicking on the Contacts option in the email campaign grid:

Once in the list, a grid appears with several contact details:

For each contact, you can see whether the email was actually sent by referencing the green check mark.

Resend to Selected Contacts

You may need to resend an email to a contact if the person did not successfully receive the original campaign message.  To resend a message to a contact:

  1. Check the box next to each user you want to resend the message to.
  2. Click "Resend to Selected Contacts" above the grid.

Test Campaign

It is highly recommended that you test your email campaign prior to sending it to your real customers.  To do this:

  1. After adding contacts to the campaign, click "Test Campaign" above the Contacts grid  The email address of the currently logged in user appears 
  2. Click the Test button.  You will receive a test email.  Boomer will use a random contact within the Contacts list as part of the test.

Add More Contacts

If additional contacts are added to the event after you've sent out the original campaign, you can add them as additional contacts.  To do this:

  1. Click "Choose Contacts" above the Contacts grid.
  2. Search and find the contact(s) using the same method as described above in the Picklist.
  3. Click "Resend Campaign".  Only users who did not previously receive the email will be sent the campaign.

A Note About Email Footers

Any time an email is sent out via campaigns, it is considered a "marketing" email as defined by General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and a footer is required.  Because of this, when any email goes out via Boomer's Campaign area, a footer will be added similar to what is shown below:

The address displayed will be the address defined in your Store Configuration area and the link to the Privacy Policy will be to your defined Privacy Policy.
