Introduction
To use Secure Quick Pay, the customer must have the Quick Pay link to the event. There are three ways for them to obtain the link:
- An email sent from within Boomer using a Secure Quick Pay email template (see E-Mail Template Samples for an example of what the template looks like). With this method, anyone can pay the outstanding balance and they do not need a login to your Boomer store. There are two different email templates available depending on if they are a contact set up in the event or not.
- A QR code you provide on signage on show site that they can scan (see QR Code Generator for Secure Quick Pay for ways to generate a QR code). With this method, anyone can pay the outstanding balance and they do not need a login to your Boomer store.
- A text message (note: this requires a third party text messaging account with a company called Twilio which is independent of Boomer. The pricing is modest but it does involve a very involved sign up process with Twilio). If you are interested in text message payment requests, reach out to support@tellingstone.com for more information.
The Customer Experience
The customer either clicks on a "Pay Now" link in an email,or scans a QR code to land on the event-specific payment link. From that point, they go through the below steps:
- The customer lands on the Secure Quick Pay homepage. They are prompted to enter a Booth Number, a Name and an Email Address:
- The booth number will bring up any outstanding unpaid balances. As noted earlier, the name and email do not have to match a contact in Boomer:
- The customer will then have the option to select payment for a specific order, or pay all outstanding orders within the event:
- After selecting 'Next: Pay for Selected Orders" the total balance due will be shown. The customer clicks 'Accept Terms and Make Payment':
- A payment page appears for entering the credit card details. The fields required on this form are defined in your authorize.net account (see Secure Quick Pay Authorize.net Set-Up for where to define these):
A confirmation page appears with an indicator of the order(s) paid. If a customer payment trigger exists in your system, the order contact of the order(s) paid receives a confirmation that a payment has been made.
Card on File
- You can save a card on file as long as you are the order contact
- If you make a payment as the order contact, your card will be saved on file when you make a payment and there isn't a card
- If there is a card already on file, it will NOT be overwritten
